Crow Creek & Lower Brule Sioux Tribes
Shared Waters
Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program
The Crow Creek and Lower Brule Tribes will unite under the Shared Waters Program to implement an evidence-based, home visiting program that supports the development of happy, healthy, and successful American Indian and Alaska Native children and families through coordinated strategies to help pregnant women and families and at -risk parents of children from birth to kindergarten entry to tap resources and hone the skills they need to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy and ready to learn.
Shared Waters target service population includes eligible pregnant women, expectant fathers, and parents serving as primary caregivers of American Indian children aged prenatal through kindergarten entry (age five).
The population also includes grandparents or other relatives of the child, foster parents who are serving as the child's primary caregiver and non-custodial parents who have an ongoing relationship with, and at times provide physical care for the child
